Constitution, By-Laws, Work Plan, and Strategic Plan Review
Submitted by Meri Gibson, IBCPC Global President.
Over the past year or so, the IBCPC board has undertaken significant efforts to review and enhance its foundational documents and strategic plans. This comprehensive review was initiated from the 2023 Congress and has continued to shape the board's direction and priorities.
Review of the Constitution and By-Law
One of the primary focuses of the IBCPC board this year has been the meticulous review of the layout of the constitution and by-laws. This review was based on the discussions and resolutions passed during the 2023 Congress. The aim was to ensure that the constitution and by-laws are not only up to date but also aligned with the evolving needs and goals of the organization. This process involved a detailed examination of each section, with particular attention to clarity, coherence, and relevance.
Evaluation of the Work Plan
In addition to the Constitution and By-Laws review, the IBCPC board has also conducted a thorough evaluation of the annual work plan. This evaluation considered all the work that has been undertaken over the past two years. The board assessed the progress made on various initiatives, identified areas for improvement, and set new priorities for the coming years. This reflective process was crucial in ensuring that the board's efforts are effectively contributing to the organization's mission and objectives.
Strategic Plan for 2025-2030
Looking ahead, the IBCPC board has been actively involved in reviewing and refining the strategic plan for the period from 2025 to 2030. This strategic plan outlines the long-term vision and goals of the organization, providing a roadmap for future initiatives and projects. The board has engaged in discussions and consultations internally and externally to ensure that the strategic plan is comprehensive, forward-thinking, and responsive to emerging trends and challenges.
Budget Preparation for 2025-2030
Alongside the strategic planning efforts, the IBCPC board has also been preparing a detailed budget for the period from 2025 to 2030. This budget is designed to support the implementation of the strategic plan, ensuring that the necessary resources are allocated to priority areas. The budgeting process has involved careful financial analysis and forecasting, with a focus on sustainability and efficiency.
In conclusion, the IBCPC board's work over the past year has been marked by a commitment to thorough review and strategic planning. By revisiting the constitution and by-laws, evaluating the work plan, and preparing for the future with a robust strategic plan and budget, the board is laying a sturdy foundation for continued success and growth.
I would like to thank my fellow board members for their diligence into that past two year's work and the forward thinking as we navigate the next five years. Voluntary roles such as ours take time and commitment with a strong focus on the needs of our membership.
