A Photo Campaign about Strength, Solidarity and Life after Breast Cancer in Koblenz

This year, we created a very special campaign during Pinktober in Koblenz: “Pink Paddler – A Photo Campaign about Strength, Solidarity and Life after Breast Cancer.”
It is more than a photoshoot – it is a statement. A statement for life, for resilience, for hope, for strength, for femininity, and for life after a breast cancer diagnosis.
On September 18, 2025 we met at our paddling area: ten strong women from the team Pink Paddlers Koblenz, our coach Jedy, Karina Schuh who is accompanying us with her camera for several years now, and Sabrina Heilig and her team from Salon HairDaun who styled us for the shoot – hair and make-up, natural and beautiful.
At the banks of the Moselle, each woman was photographed individually – wearing white bras from Aubade, pink sports bras from Anita, combined with La Mesma sports pants, a pink scarf, her paddle, and the energy of the wind. We stepped in front of the camera in bras. Publicly. Not perfectly staged, but authentic. With our stories, our bodies, our strength.
The highlight was the group photo in our pink dragon boat Ohana. Ohana means family – and that’s exactly what these women embody in this picture. Accompanied by our coach Jedy we paddled in perfect synchronicity – heading towards visibility – real, unfiltered, with everything that comes with it.
The photos will be displayed in Koblenz throughout October on roll-ups, supported by local businesses and visible in the entire city center, plus articles in newspapers and also on Social Media.
Campaign motto: Courage. Joy of Life. Strength. Confidence.
Conclusion: Pink Paddler – More Than Just a Picture
This campaign is a wake-up call. A motivator. A look behind the curtain of breast cancer.
“This photo reminds us never to lose faith in courage, joy of life, strength, and confidence.”
Visibility is more than just an image. It is an act of self-determination. A step into the light.
