A Field Trip on the River Elbe
On Saturday, September 20th, 80 breast cancer paddlers and friends from across Germany (Bochum, Dresden, Hamburg, Hannover, Heilbronn, Jena, Leipzig, Schierstein, Wolfsburg and Worms) met at the clubhouse WSV Blaues Wunder, home of the pink paddlers Dresden, to spend the beautiful sunny autumn day together.
Mixed in 4 dragonboats, they started on a “field trip” on the River Elbe, paddling from the blue bridge known as the blue wonder to Pillnitz Palace, taking a break for coffee and cake on the shoreline, passing 3 castles on the way and returning for a barbecue at the club.
In spite of the 18 kilometers of paddling, the pink ladies still had the power to dance after enjoying the sunset. On Sunday morning, every muscle reminded all participants of the unforgettable event. Dresden is always worth a visit!
