From the Desk of the Editor

Well, it certainly has been a busy time for breast cancer paddlers around the world!
You will notice that there are a few articles about the World Championships in Brandenburg, Germany. This is the first time that breast cancer teams have been able to participate in this event, mainly due to the tireless efforts of Meri Gibson.
Just a few weeks prior to Worlds, the Pan Ams took place in Montreal, Québec, Canada. I was so fortunate to be able to attend this amazing event! Meri was there and she awarded the medals for the 2k race.
Of course, we must acknowledge the 30th anniversary of where it all began. Abreast in a Boat held a very successful event at Pacific Concord in Vancouver this summer, welcoming breast cancer teams in a huge celebration, which included 3 members of Dr. Don McKenzie’s original team, who are still paddling.
One of my favourite articles to read in this edition is the one about taking a dragon boat on the Falkirk wheel, which was a really unique experience. Their pics are amazing!
We are still looking for someone with marketing experience to join the board. Please check out the Expression of Interest page and let us know if you or someone you know would be interested.
