Expression of Interest – Director, Marketing and Global Sponsorship
The International Breast Cancer Paddlers’ Commission (IBCPC) is seeking applications for the position of Director: Marketing and Global Sponsorship. This is a vital role within the IBCPC, is aimed at promoting and supporting the development, participation, and recognition of breast cancer paddlers (BCP) in the sport of dragon boat paddling at all levels.
The Director will work closely with the IBCPC President, Board and relevant stakeholders to advocate for and encourage participation by survivors and to facilitate sponsorship partnerships to promote global inclusion in this sport.
There is a possibility that this position may be split into 2 if we find the right candidates.
Main responsibilities
To develop strategies and initiatives aimed at advancing the involvement of breast cancer paddlers in dragon boat paddling.
Represent the interests of paddlers in IBCPC activities and decision-making processes.
Collaborate with IBCPC Members and National Federations to implement programs that enhance opportunities for breast cancer paddlers in the sport.
Address challenges and barriers to participation and representation of breast cancer paddlers in dragon boat paddling.
Report regularly to the IBCPC Board on progress and outcomes of initiatives.
Eligibility criteria
A strong commitment to the advancement of breast cancer paddling in sports
Proven experience in leadership roles
Extensive experience in marketing roles, particularly global experience
Familiarity with dragon boat racing and its global structure is an advantage
Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Experience in obtaining sponsors or financial partners
