Spirit Warriors celebrate October Breast Cancer Month

The Spirit Warriors from Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada have lost a season of paddling due to the pandemic, just like everyone else. Not only have we missed paddling and being together but we have missed festivals which include a carnation ceremony we all look forward to. Every year It's been our grand finale on the water, with other survivors and the entire team. As our summer has come to an end, the Spirit Warriors decided to have our own carnation ceremony, without boats, on the Thompson River where we usually paddle.

It was socially distanced and community businesses generously donated the flowers and the pink masks. As the sun shed it's final rays on the mountains, a fun but solemn evening concluded the team's season. Too bad we couldn't hug.
