This year's CIBC Run for the Cure brought us together virtually and the feeling of community was stronger than ever as thousands of Canadians across the country united in support of the breast cancer cause. Over $9 million was raised Canada-wide for Canadians impacted by breast cancer!
The WonderBroads of Windsor Essex participated in this year’s CIBC Run for the Cure. Our team earmarked their fundraising to go to Metastatic Breast Cancer research.
A number of our teammates gathered to walk together in spite of the rain, others walked individually or with their family members but all team members supported this effort with donations! And we had a wonderful breakfast following our participation hosted by one of our team members Ana and her husband Ross the chef!
Our team pulled together to come across the finish line being first in the city of top fundraising teams with a total of $12,794! This race is to change the future of breast cancer, to fund ground-breaking research, support programs and services! WonderBroads love coming in first on water and land!
Not only did we win the Women’s Team challenge award for the third year in a row but also gained the privilege of choosing a song meaningful to the team to be on the Spotify playlist. We chose LEAN ON ME because that is what our team is about, being there for each other!
Together, we’re a force-for-life in the face of breast cancer, on water and land!
