Sisters at Heart Celebration

Dragonheart Vermont’s Sisters at Heart (SAH) Celebration has been connecting Breast Cancer Survivors since 2007 on Vermont’s beautiful Lake Champlain. SAH was conceived by Dragonheart Vermont’s (DHVT) founder, Linda Dyer. Her dream of reaching out to other breast cancer survivor dragon boat teams in the United States and Canada resulted in our hosting an annual event that brought fellow survivors together for a special day of paddling, camaraderie, and joy. As our honored guests at our Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival, participating teams celebrated survivorship and remembered lives lost during the traditional flower ceremony.

Fast forward to 2020 when the world was devastated with a pandemic. Our traditional event could not take place; however, this did not prevent the Sisters at Heart Celebration from happening. With heart, the committee “pivoted” to a virtual event and we couldn’t have been happier with the result. Our virtual celebration brought together 375 participants representing 31 teams from 3 continents 4 countries 14 states 5 Canadian provinces and 3 autonomous cities (Washington DC, Buenos Aires, and Christchurch).

This year, the 2021 SAH will once again be virtual. Please join us to celebrate our love of dragon boating, our love of life, and our love of coming together as a community with survivors and supporters from around the world. Once again participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the celebration. Special pre-recorded sessions and a beautiful tribute will be made available starting Saturday, August 7, 2021. Registration opens in late May 2021. The registration link will be here:

It’s going to be a great event! Please join us!!
