We are herewith sending you article regarding the JUST THE WOMAN I AM. This event in the past 8 years, has supported University Cancer Research on breast cancer and is organized by CUS Torino (University Sport Center of Torino) in partnership with both the University of Study of Torino and the Politecnico di Torino.
This year’s virtual edition, which took place between March 7 and 14th, consisted of every participant walking or running the usual 5Km distance, in complete safety, by choosing their own route.
We organized a team named "PINK DRAGON BOAT ITALIA" and invited all Italian teams to join us, becoming the largest team registered for the event.
TWIA is a non-competitive run and fit-walk, that supports University Research on breast cancer. Dragonette Torino decided to take part in this year’s virtual edition, by inviting BCS paddlers throughout Italy to join and together organized the “Pink Dragon Boat team Italia”.
Fourteen Italian BCS DB teams participated: Florence Dragon Lady Lilt walked the Lungarni virtually with friends from other teams in Italy. Pink Amazon Milano walked at the Idroscalo Park, in Milan city, in Monza Park, in Muzza Park and in Piacenza. Dragonesse Avigliana, organized small groups around the Lago Grande and on the surrounding hill, along the ancient path of the Princes. Astro Dragonladies Empoli paddle on the river Arno, and took their virtual tour on the territory nearby. Il Rosacheosa Rome decided to take their walk along the Appia, the Regina Viarum, a road that in ancient times brought together cultures and civilizations. Mutina Pink Dragons Modena took their walk, each one individually, choosing their own course, because they are always together, even when they are apart. Karalis Pink Cagliari walked in the Molentargius Regional Park, a beautiful spot where pink flamingos nest. UGO Padova experienced a day of sports in a joyful and relaxing way and as an opportunity to concretely support university research. Akea Rosa Lilt Treviso, walked on the Sile River bank on their way to regain self-confidence. Pink Lioness Venice spread their message about preventive screening. Maldobrie Gorizia walked on the seafront at Monfalcone in small groups or individually. Trifoglio Rosa Mestre train in the Venice lagoon, and took their tour across the city. Pink Butterfly Rome took the opportunity to feel closer to each other as a ray of sunshine in these dark times. Dragonlady Ferrara shared together a sunny morning aware of the fact that they were in touch with so many women in the world for the cancer prevention.
